Local large language AI models are closing the gap with cloud-based models in professional computer-assisted language translation, according to a new study from the University of Georgia that also sheds light on how large language models (LLMs) learn to translate. The findings could give professional translators a practical alternative to cloud-based AI, particularly in fields
